microsoft excel is often used just for maintaining lists and trackers of any kind such as inventory lists, to do lists, item lists, expenses lists, telephone lists, member lists, attendance trackers, grade trackers, medication logs, scorecards for your favorite sport and much much more.
but don´t you think that using excel for such purposes is not the right choice ?
excel is much too powerfull for these tasks, much too expensive and overwhelms you with menus, commands, functions and dialogues you won´t need for keeping just a list of things.
plus excel isn´t ideal for large lists, since it´s more a spreadsheet than a database. with large lists excel can get really slow.
