Binit 121
Bin-It is a cocoa application that runs in the background (put it into your startup items) and acts like the original Mac OS 9 trash can on your desktop. It tries to mimic the behavior of the original wastebasket by darkening when you drag files over it. It also shows as "full" when files are in it.
I guess that like a lot of people, I miss the old / classic wastebasket / trash desktop icon (pre-OSX). Other applications I've tried which provide a desktop icon have been a little clunky.
It's hidden from the dock and menu bar, but provides (via a right-click or control-click) a menu offering the 'empty trash' option as well as customization (size and style).
