Hangouts is a Chrome extension that offers you an accessible and fun way of chatting with friends and family. You can add it to your browser directly from the Chrome web store or manually install it by dropping the extension file into its corresponding section. Once added, it creates the typical icon in the Chrome interface which you can use to access it. Clicking the Hangouts icon from the browser opens up the chat service in a window that is completely independent from Chrome.
