uTorrent Status Tool is a Firefox extension that displays the status of the Linux alpha utserver آµTorrent headless server. It has an icon or text label in the status bar (or add-on bar) showing whether the server is available and a summary of its activity. Numbers of seeds and peers are shown, together with the number of up and down connections and the overall upload and download speeds. There is also a configurable list of torrent files available as a tooltip from the status bar in full mode or the context menu in compact mode.You might notice some similarities to the uTorrent WebUI addon, which inspired me to write this extension. No sidebars here and no drag'n'drop, although you can open the WebUI by clicking on the statusbar. Instead there are handlers so that clicking on a magnet link or torrent file will submit it to uTorrent automatically. If you prefer to submit from a context menu, then try the Send to WebUI extension.This extension is designed with token authorisation for security, all utserver access from an XPCOM component for better performance with lots of windows or tabs, and a highly configurable interface to suit your taste. At present it only has a couple of commands for controlling the server, but it would be easy to add more. If there are other commands that are needed fairly frequently without opening the WebUI then I'll consider adding them. You can raise an enhancement request ticket with ideas.Clearly the extension is aimed at the Linux platform, and has only been tested with the Linux native µTorrent server. Using the same web API, it is likely to work with Windows servers under Wine, and possibly on Windows or Mac although they have their own clients anyway.
