Cheese is an open source application that allows you to control your webcam or any other supported video camera attached to your computer, to take pictures and videos.Cheese is a free project written in GTK+, and designed especially to be used under the GNOME desktop environment. It requires the GNOME Video Effects package, a webcam, and a brain.As you can see from the requirements section below, the Cheese application uses GStreamer to apply fancy effects to video and image files.
