Thunderbird does not anymore have the ability to reduce the display size of header planel to one line starting with beta 3.This addon adds a symbol to compact and expand the message header plane. The compact view can be set to either a one or two lines version.A customization dialog can be opened for the toolbar in the header pane to change the displayed buttons and their style.
